Christchurch EarthquakeThank you for the overwhelming response to volunteer to help with the Christchurch earthquake response. The primary respondents in this situation are Urban Search and Rescue (USAR). USAR teams have a different skill-set to LandSAR teams. LandSAR is primarily involved with searching for missing people in a wilderness environment, although we do also operate in suburban/uban environments. It is possible we’ll be involved in Christchurch in a support capacity. If you are interested in joining LandSAR then see if you meet the criteria.
